No problem steering but my steering column on 2006 trailblazer makes a loud humming. Fluid has been checked and is ok.

It sounds like you are getting a telegraphing sound from your steering gear, have you checked the flex ring at the base of you steering column just above the steering gear, it may have started to decompose.
