Where is my oil going?

Asked by Roger Oct 29, 2020 at 04:53 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet HHR LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

No visible oil leaks, no oil in antifreeze, no exhaust
oil. Always shows low or empty on dipstick.

If you top off the oil how many miles does it take to be 1 quart down?

It is likely going out the exhaust and being burned off in the cats. Sometimes this makes no smoke or soot in the exhaust pipe.
