Why do ABS & VDC lights remain on after replacement of the CVC joints

Asked by Mar 25, 2011 at 05:46 PM about the 2002 Subaru Outback H6-3.0

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

ABS & VDC lights remain on after replacement of the CVC joints.  Battery has been disconnected, for long period of time even, to reset, but lights remain on which means ABS and VDC are not working.  Please advise...

You probably broke the wires for one or more of the wheel speed sensors. See if any of them are open or just go get someone to tell you the codes that are stored for the ABS. Those codes will tell you what wheels aren't sending a signal.
