I change my valve cover gaskets an this is what my valves look like. . Is this normal the
subaru has 198000 miles on it and I do not know the repair history

You mean the spark plug gaskets? Those are heavily worn, I would replace those as well. Your valvetrain appears to be normal.

Everything there looks typical of about any engine with that many miles.

Thanks you guys i have never seen a valve cover removed abd wasn't sure what it should look like and i did replaced the sprkplug gaskets along with the valve cover gaskets
