Battery is new replaced it in January. Try to jump the the car still will not strat just makes that clicking sound.

Make sure the solenoid wire connecting to the back is in there good. In total there should be 3 wires connecting to your starter - ground, positive, and the solenoid wire.

If the problem is intermittent (starts fine most of the time, but out of the blue will start but not turn over) if your battery is fine-- When you finally get it to start/running, drive to the nearest auto store (like AutoZone, Pep Boys) & ask them to 'test' your car (free diagnostic) while the "codes are fresh"--- Believe me, the problem will likely not disappear. 2010 Outback here. SAME ISSUE! Resolved now, after countless intermittent issue (happening) & diagnostics at a few places. The code finally came up for the malfunctioning/misfiring: P0335 OBD-II Trouble Code: Crankshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit Malfunction. FINALLY a code appeared! --- Battery, alternator, ignition switch, fuel pump --- all are fine. The parts+labor at the Subaru dealership was approx. 420 USD. Not bad for peace of mind. My Subaru is older, though, approaching 175K but I love this car. Other than this problem, it runs fine and I drive A LOT (est. 38K per year).

I'm afraid the car never starts, plus I have a diagnostic tool of my own and it spouts about 15 errors, none of which are item specific (ie Misfires), but my timing is perfect.
