Tail light bolts / screws

Asked by Jun 24, 2014 at 04:54 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet Equinox LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The bolts / screws on my tail light assemblies no longer "bite" into their "sockets". Is
there any way to repair this?

Did you try longer screws? Or try plastic anchors, or jam a sliver of the plastic anchor into the hole to help the screws bite.

If you can, shine a light into the holes ans see if the threads are stripped. If so, see if there are removable fasteners to replace or it is an expensive replacement. Car repair shops may give the best advice as they come across it the most.

I'll take a closer look. Your suggestions are much appreciated.
