Why does my 2006 Chevy Equinox have a loud, annoying buzz whenever I turn on my car?

Asked by May 08, 2014 at 12:12 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet Equinox LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 Chevy Equinox and I think that I have some sort of electrical system issue.
Whenever I put the key in the ignition and turn it to the point just before it turns over, there
is a loud, annoying buzz that comes on for about 5 seconds. If I have my seat belt on
before that point then there is no buzz. What could this be? The problem only started a
couple of days ago.
