Towards the back of my 2006 Chevy cobalt I smell gas.Don't see any leaks though.Already had new fuel pump installed about 2 years ago? Check engine light is on as well.
This may be a a hose loose to tank or in a line, but more than likely if you dont see fuel leaking under car,it will be the gasket at the fuel pump on top of tank, you want see fuel because it lays on top of tank and evaporates, but you will smell it,but go have the engine light scanned at parts store to know why engine light is on.
check engine light may be caused by a bad o2 sensor engine may be running lean on 1 or both banks
I received recall on my Cobalt for the same reason. Check with the dealer. Problem like this should be covered under extended warranty. If dealer gives you any non sense send letter to Mary Barra.
