2006 Chevy Cobalt LS Battery Saver On Appears While Car is Idling While in Park

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt LS and it's has been giving me some issues that
I would like some help on. This has happened twice, the battery saver on will
appear on the dashboard while my car is in park and idling. My car will be
idling for about 15-30 minutes at the battery save on light will appear on my
dashboard. I don't know if this matters but I do also have my AC on because
it's like in the 90's here. I've had a new battery put in already and my dad
replaced the alternator at the end of 2019.

First scan it for trouble codes. Then make sure all battery connections and grounds are tight and clean. Do the scan first though so you don't lose codes if you're taking electrical connections apart to clean and tighten them. Hopefully that will correct the problem of give you some guidance on where to look. I believe the warning light you are talking about is telling you that the battery is not charging.
