We left it set for 8 yrs and it ran perfect when parked, put new battery in it today and checked fuses. and it will still only click when you turn the key
The starter could be ceased or even the motor after sitting for so long. I would put a breaker bar on the front of the motor and try to get it to turn by hand.
Does the engine turn over freely if you remove the spark plugs ? If so I would say the Starter solenoid is bad.
Does your car have a computer module? If so, it may be a problem. If you can turn the motor by had after removing the plugs, and if you can borrow a starter to see if it is a problem, your next step is the computer module. I would bet it is the starter if I was a betting man.
