what engine should I get for my 93 impreza

I have a base model 93 impreza. I want more
power for weekend fun. there's a 05 forester xs
that's been wrecked at a junk yard near me. should
I grab this or save money to order offline.

In theory you could install the Forester engine in your car but there will be lots of issues such as OBD1 vs OBD2. I would not waste the money on a 25 year old Subaru unless you have a strong sentimental attachment to it.
