Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Not sure what to do. on a tight budget. but need the repair to be safe, as i have a child, and won't take any risks.
How hard would replacing the gas tank be? Or is there an easy way to safely patch it?

I would never just patch a gas tank, that is just in emergency's to get you to the garage. It is probably rusted in a couple spots. So replacement is your only option. Here is some basic instruction for a Legacy to get what your up against in completing the task. http://www.ehow.com/how_7882530_replace-gas-tank-subaru-legacy.html

If you need a quick fix, get some quik steel, it's about 10 bucks and will last a month or two till you can get a new one, or liquid steel both can be found at napa or auto zone
