Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a 2005 Pontiac

lost the key, I called the dealer to
get a new key and was referred
to a locksmith who made a key.
It opens the doors, it turns the
ignition over one click but no

does not have a chip in it, how
can I program it so the vehicle

Sorry to have to say this, but it will have to be programmed by the dealer, the dealer you delt with in the pass that could not make and program the key would not be a good choice to take it back to,find another dealer it does not have to be a pontiac dealer, good luck with it,

That's what I thought. Thank you .

It's normally something like this, but you have to have a PK3 key. RELEARN PROCEDURE: Turn the key on, with the engine OFF. Try to start the engine, then release the key to ON, Engine will not start. Watch the security telltale, after about 10 mins, it will turn OFF. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds. Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes. You must turn the ignition OFF for 30 seconds before attempting to start the vehicle after the 3 cycles. Then start the engine .
