2006 Pontiac Grand Prix air not getting cold or hot

Asked by Nov 11, 2016 at 03:39 PM about the 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix. This summer I noticed the AC would not
get cold, I added coolant and that did not help. The blower has no problem
blowing air, I can switch it to the floor vents and defroster with no problem.
Now that it has gotten cold, I have tried using the heat, also does not get
got. The air seems to stay at about "room temperature". Again, air blows
with no problem and the defroster works just fine. Any ideas on what the
problem could be and how to fix?

Sounds like the temperature door actuator, under the dash, isn't working. HTH. -Jim
