My daughter and I both have a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix. Mine is a GT. When we first start them in the morning or for the first time of the day they fire right up. Anytime after that during the day when you try to start they always die and have to restart and give it a little gas right away to keep them running. Our check engine lights have never came on so there is no code to be checked. What would you suggest we try??

when was the last time fuel filter was changed?

I'm sure there are codes. Codes do not necessarily trigger the check engine light or otherwise make themselves evident, but I'm sure your car's computer is keeping track of what is going on. Both cars need a visit to your mechanic to read the codes and give you some insight on what is going on.
