2005 Grand Prix Shifting Problems
I have a 2005 Grand Prix GT 3800 V6. I noticed the other day that it is having a hard time
shifting. Example, I will be driving 55 mph and the rpm's are at 2500. I am having the
transmission solenoid replace and a transmission service done on Monday and was just
curious if it is the same problem or if it is something different.
Have them add a qt of lucas transmission treatment to it when they service it.
Yep, he said that he was also going to do that. Hoping I don't need a rebuild! Would you have any idea why my trac off light comes on intermittently as well? When the light is on my cruise doesn't work either.
When the ECM sees a problem with the transmission it disables the traction control and cruise.
Interesting. The Trac off light just started coming on last week.
Let me know how it goes. My Grand Prix has been having shifting issues too. I plan to replace the Electronic Pressure Control Solenoid soon.
So another weird thing happened to it today. I was driving and the the trans temp up to about 113 degrees and the trac off light turned off and the door locks worked again. I either have bunch of things wrong with this car or they are all connected. Any input would be great!
Check all the grounds under the hood. Sounds like it is losing contact somewhere.
I have a 2005 Grand Prix Gt. I wanted to know some of the sign that the tranmission. Strange thing transmission oil with no leaks, car will go in gear after that it will not work. I want to know about it before towing to a car company. Needy help
