The following are the lights I get when I start my car and clear out: traction control off, Service traction system, check tire pressure, Service ABS system. Tires are checked daily and are fine!

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently just bought my mothers
2004 Grand Prix, this woman bought
the car with maybe 100 miles on it
and in 10 years the car has 90,000
miles on it. She kept in fantastic
condition however she had to
replace the alternator. I've had the
car for about two weeks and my bf
just checked the oil bc I had a
warning light come on that said low
oil, there was no oil in it when he
looked also there was almost no
coolant. He did put about 4 qt a if oil
and filled the coolant up to the line
but the temp gage is still rising to the
red line. Very scared there maybe
something more wrong with it than
what the mechanic said. (Which was
basically nothing and we just had to
get the codes reset) if any of my
fellow 2004 GP owners have solid
answers for me it would be greatly
appreciated!!! Thank you kindly

My mother also said that every mechanic she has taken it to have told her the same thing. That the codes need to be cleared out but like I said in my question above there is something obviously wrong with it. I'm just afraid I'm going to be driving down the highway one day and my car is going to blow up or catch in fire, that's my kind of luck! Again, any advice, thoughts are pointers would be greatly appreciated thanks again!!!
