04 Grand Prix dies after turning over

Asked by Aug 22, 2016 at 07:21 AM about the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT2

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car turns over fine, never an issue, but when the
engine comes down to idle, it will sometimes die
unless I give it a little gas (not flooring it). After that, it
idles fine, though the RPMs seem to jump around
between 700-1000 for seemingly no reason. Haven't
checked anything since I don't know where to begin.
Thank you in advance for any help.

Clean the throttle body and Idle control sensor. Might have some carbon buildup. check youtube on how to do it, use throttle body cleaner only and rags.
