2004 Gran Prix rear view mirror

Asked by Dec 03, 2015 at 11:52 AM about the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT1

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Passenger side rear view mirror needs replaced.  Must the inside door panel be removed, if so can just the back section or must all be removed.  I have tried to remove the door handle.  My 10 mm socket bindes.   Is there a special tool required.  Also is the black triangle piece, top rear of inside panel removable, or is it part of main panel?  Lots of problems getting to the 2 mirror bolts to remove it.
Js08016 helped me bigtime, on my oil leak a few days ago.  Was by-pass elbows, as he suggested.  Thanks to Js08016.

the triangle does come off but the mirror broke or the casing around the mirror
