High beams don't work

Asked by Oct 23, 2016 at 10:19 PM about the 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 Pontiac grand prix gt and the
high beams don't work and my low beams
are dim. But I'm not sure where the fuse is
for it to check that.

Do the taillights and parking lights come on with the headlights? If not it sounds like the daytime running lights are on all the time. This could be a shorted light sensor on the top center of the dash or a bad DRL module. Try turning on the headlights manually. Do they work correctly then? But if indeed the headlights are coming on automatically. I'd suspect a bad dimmer switch. HTH. -Jim
