My car does this really bad shake when I accelerate
to 40 mph & then it won’t do it again. The whole
dashboard shakes. It’s driving me crazy because I
think it’s someth so simple

Could be a number of things. Check tire condition such as inflation/wheel balance Could be cv joint or wheel bearing issue. Would have front end inspected no matter what concerning all associated parts

Check spark plugs. Could be so worn out they misfire causing the car to shake. Happened to me. New plugs and wires and it ran like new again .
