temp gauge reading hot all the way to red

im not losing coolant its just the gage seems to stay in the red zone or just
below could it be the engine block sensor  and car isnt hot  i can put my hand
on top of engine

yes replace the temp sending unit first...ok

I agree. Be sure to get an AC Delco one though. For some reason aftermarket sensors don't work well in these cars. HTH. -Jim
