what cause smoke coming from the front

what would cause steam to come from the grille of my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix other than water from
puddles when the weather was warmer & creating steam off the hot motor, what else could it be?

You might be leaking antifreeze and it's evaporating off the exhaust. Check for leaks and get it fixed.

Have the mechanic check for a lower intake manifold leak.

I would get it fixed just I haven't worked since December 2012.
