now i'm being told that my revving issue is because of my engine control module, this true, just rolled 228k. it only revs when going up a grade.

ECM? Dunno 'bout that, when you say it only revs when going up a grade. Sounds more like a transmission issue to me, especially if it's the original tranny with 228k on it

I agree.. It does sound like a transmission issue to me as well.
