could a bad catalytic converter give off a MAF code
went to get car smogged only thing that came up was bad catalytic converter
as i was driving home engine light came on put scan tool on code came up for
Just a guess here but massive back pressure from a plugged up cat might set up abnormal air flow issues that could trigger a maf code. If it were me, I would replace the bad cat and see if the maf issue goes away.
I agree, But get the code cleared after replacement of the cat.
Good thinking Full Of Regrets. But if the cat was that badly clogged you'd have loss or power, overheating, and a P0420 code as well. My guess is that the MAF is bad and throwing off the emissions. Sometimes people at the inspection lanes think they know more than they really do! HTH. -Jim
