how do you reset the check engine light on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT 3.8 engine?

What trouble codes do you have? The system can be reset with a scan tool or it will reset itself once the problem is fixed. HTH. -Jim

this worked for me a few times, may not work all the time,, insert key into ignition, with ignition off pump gas padel 5 times, crank car, light out

did not work this time. so i took pos. terminal off battery, held ignition in start position for at least 30 seconds reture ignition to off position, connect pos. cable onto post of battery, crank car, light stayed off, good luck
