Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the resistor pack  for the fan ,, But I still only have the maximum speed which is #5,, all other speeds #1 through #4,, have no effect on it,, Is there any other components I can change out,,I did test the switch,, ,, < used another switch from another grand prix,, No effect just the maximum speed ,, ,, Also the rear window defogger will not stay on are the two related in some way?

Check the fuses in the glove box. Sounds like one is blown. High blower speed is fused seperatly from the others. HTH. -Jim

I have checked the fuse ,, which is 30 Amp,, Its fine,, I even put a new one in,, nothing changed,, One thing to note ,, when I turn the fan speed control to the #1 setting,, the day light running lights( headlights), go out,, its the same for the other settings till I get to #5 setting ,, it comes back on,, Whats going on?

For the daytime running lights to go out it sounds like a bad ground. Unfortunately I don't have a wiring diagram for your car. Have you recently replaced the radio? Since the climate controls are just below the radio I'm guessing that's where you should look first. HTH. - Jim

Thanks ,, i'll check it out,, and No I havn't replaced the radio.. I did have it out looking for any relays behind it,, which I did find behind the glove box
