what would cause the brake lights to go out, the windows quit rolling up, the car to quit running and the key to get stuck in a 2001 pontiac grand prix

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my brake lights went out but car was starting and running okay. Then my rear window wouldn't roll up. when my
husband tried to fix that the car quit turning on the and the key got stuck. The car would ding when door was open
and you could hear clicking when you tried to turn it on but it wouldn't turn over. We did finally get the key out by
jiggling it but i need to know what is causing this and how much it will cost to fix it.

Could be a bunch of things but I'd check the battery first. Sounds like its dead.
