Why do I hear a loud screech when trying to open the trunk remotely (with the key fob or button in glove box)
I have 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT, a couple of years ago, I would hear a loud screech whenever I tried to open the trunk remotely using the key fob or the button in the glove box. It would open after a few good squeals. After a while the trunk would not properly close after I got it open, I'd have to slam it shut 4-5 times before it actually latched. I found this more in the cold weather. Now, the trunk will screech when i try to open it remotely but will not open at all. I can only open it using the key and I still have to close it a few times to get to latch. How do I fix this?
You have to find the where the truck actuator is and associated linkage and lube it. Your probably going to have to remove the trunk liner to access.
