Hearing a squell while driving down the road also a flapping turning left

Asked by Nov 30, 2014 at 04:53 PM about the 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Wen i get over speeds of 30- 35 my driver
side starts to squel. I just replaced hubs
struts cv axles and  power steering pump.
Than just this morning driving down the
road and i turned left at a light and heard a
flapping noise coming from driver side too.
Can anyone help on this. Starting to really
annoy me with all the work i have to do to it.

Sounds like your Struts are worn out .... It's not a tough job and the struts are about$70 each. You will need a spring compressor. Lot of automotive stores will let you borrow one for free ... but you need to leave a deposit

I just changed out the struts on both sides.

You might have a loose plastic panel rubbing against your tire. Make sure the fender lining and underbody plastic panels are properly secured. Sometimes the plastic fasteners can pop out and the wind causes it to flex and rub on the tire.
