Why won't my 2000 pontiac grand prix start

Asked by Venny Jun 01, 2020 at 03:51 AM about the 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The relay in the glove box clicks when I turn the key over but the car wont turn
over at all. I have reset the security repeatedly and noting worked. The car
dings even when the key is out and the lights are off. I made sure that the car is
in park and that did not make the car stop dinging. What could be wrong with
my car I don't know what else it could be we just replaced the power steering
system in it would that cause it? We replace the starter and checked the old
one both the old one and the new one still work why is my car acting like the
security is going off.

I agree with Ed. Make sure the battery is fully charged and connections are tight. Also have a good look at anything wiring related in the vicinity of the work you were doing on the power steering. It seems a little too coincidental that the problem started after you did that work. Also don't replace anymore unrelated parts (like the starter) until you pinpoint the problem. Diagnose, then fix.
