99 grand prix 3.8 replaced head gaskets sound like no oil getting to the top of engine replaced oil pump do i take the pan down and check for plug screen?

First you should get a oil pump pressure test to see if pump has correct pressure. Is that the reason you put in a new oil pump engine was tapping or just started tapping after new pump install ?

the engine hydrolock ,and blow the oil out the oil pressure sencer replaced intake gasket head gasket oil pump was binding but no oil getting to the top.


Did you replace oil pump or cleaned to old one up ?


So it was not tapping before doing work ?

no i didn't take the oil pan off yet.


So was it tapping before or after you replaced the intake and head gasket ?

after i did the work


If your oil light on ?

no it is not


Is your oil light on ? If it is your oil pump is not working if not let me know.


Just got your answer. Try this I know it works because I seen and heard it work . Try adding some (Lucas Engine Oil Stabilizer ) to your oil. If you change your oil just leave out one quart of oil then add the Lucas. With in 45 minutes to an hour of letting your vehicle idle the tap will go away. I believe its safe to say I will guarantee the tap will stop as long as its not your oil pump.
