Oil Change Light Reset Doesn't Work

Asked by Dec 04, 2013 at 09:32 PM about the 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix 4 Dr GT Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 99 Grand Prix and I can't reset the "change oil" light using the normal procedure. It worked before, but now it would nor reset no matter how many times I tried it. Does it need ECM reflashed?

I doubt it. The oil life system is part of the BCM (Body Control Module) not the PCM (Powertrain Control Module). HTH. -Jim
