Pontiac Grand Prix battery is new but car will only start if it is jumped

Asked by Jul 07, 2015 at 06:24 PM about the 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix 2 Dr GT Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Older model pontiac grand prix.  The battery  is new.  Car would not start today.  It
wouldn't make a sound when I turned the ignition but the accessory light was on and the
door ajar noise maker was dinging.  We hooked the battery up using cables to another
vehicle and it started immediately.

Might be a slow parasitic drain on the battery system. Have it diagnosed at your local mechanic.
