Why my car wont start but it turns over?

I have a 1998 pontiac grand prix gt and it
won't start but it turns over.I was driving and
it just cut off.Any suggestions on what it
possibly could be.

Sounds suspiciously like the fuel pump. Turn the key to the on position without cranking the engine. Do you hear the fuel pump humming for about 10 seconds? If you hear it its probably OK, but if you hear nothing its likely failed and will need to be replaced.
