97 3.8L starts and stops after a few seconds. could it be the fuel pump, or fuel filte?
It starts and the engine stops aftèr a few seconds of running. I'm thinking fuel
pump or filter. Any ideas of other possibilitie? Thank you
could be. take the fuel filter off blow threw it and see if it is hard to blow threw if so replace it. fuel pump you will need a fuel pressure gauge to check it
Turn the key to the run position without starting the car. You should hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds and then stop. If it does it's unlikely that its the fuel pump. If there's nothing then its time for a new pump and filter. Whatever it is, find the problem before you start replacing parts or you'll spend a fortune and get nowhere.
