Try some general maintenance things first. Check air filter clean throttle with throttle body cleaner change fuel filter and add fuel injector cleaner to gas tank.

If your Grand Prix has over 100,000 miles on it you're due for a tune up. Replace the spark plugs and spark plug wires if that's the case. Chevron Fuel Injector Cleaner works best in these cars. The fuel injectors are prone to get gummed up. Is your service engine soon light on? HTH. -Jim
