I have a Pontiac Grand am 2005 the tire size is 205 65 R 15 I got tires form a friend the are 215 70 R 15 is that okay if I put those on my car ?

Yep, they will sit a little higher on your rim than your old tires but 15" tires are 15" tires.

Ah, more to it than that, if he put a 265/60/15 on their, he would more than likely have issues with the tire rubbing.

maybe, 265 is in millimeters, which is about 60 mm difference about 2 1/2 inches. If he didn't have the clearance it might be.
