Smoke fron Steering Column

My 2004 Pontiac Grand Am signal has started
clicking when I don't have the signal on and
occasional smoke from steering column..any
suggestions?

Smoke from the steering column? Does it smell like an electrical fire, or melting plastic? I would get it checked out ASAP.

Really couldnt tell because it only did it twice and when it did it was a minimal amount and didn't linger.

Basically if you would have blinked you would have missed it or even been able to tell
