Balancing chain.

I took my car to a mechanic cause he
said that the timing chain broke so I
bought the part new..then he said
that a balancing chain broke..and I
went to AutoZone and they told me
that my car doesn't have that..I just
want to know if my Pontiac grand am
2.2L have a balancing chain?

Yes, the 2.2 has a balance shaft chain. While doing the timing chain that may as well be done because its right there.

And does the balance shaft chain come with sensors?

Not that i know of. I dont see why it would.
