04 pontiac grand am GT backfired now idels rough what could this be

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Went to start that car and it sounded like it backfired.  Now when it turns over
it sounds and runs rough.  What could this be?  Any help would be
appreciated!!!

Did it backfire out the tailpipe or the intake manifold? Either way it sounds like it's misfiring. Is the check engine or service engine soon light flashing? If so, it's definitely misfiring. HTH. -Jim
