My Pontiac Grand Am GT is overheating

Asked by Aug 26, 2016 at 10:58 AM about the 2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm 16 years old and this is my first car, my mom bought it
for me from a friend who took no care of it, so between
me, Google, & autozone I've been trying to get it running
like it's supposed to, everything is running good but my
car overheats really quickly, and the coolant holder holds
no coolant whatsoever, could that be a problem or does
anyone have any suggestions on what it could be ?

It could be a number of things. Thermostat, water pump, air in the cooling system, clogged radiator, clogged cooling system passages, or even a collapsing lower radiator hose. Does your heater work (blow hot air)? HTH. - Jim
