TRAC OFF means your traction control has been disabled. Could just be a switch on your dash or a wheel sensor has gone bad. If there is no switch on your car, have the code read at your local auto parts store and see what it tells you. A bad sensor will show up if it is the cause. This should have no effect on how the car is running unless something else has also gone wrong at the same moment (unlikely).
