So for the last 2 days my 2002 grand am has been shutting off. I could be getting off the freeway, or at a light. It starts back up but when I shift it drive, it shuts off.

Not sure about 2002 but my 2005 Grand Am was recalled to fix the ignition. Call a GM dealer to see if your car is on recall for anything

I have a 99 pontiac grand am se 3.4L V6. The issue is that it starts and idles fine but as soon as I go to accelerate it just shuts off. It did have overheating issues but right after I fixed those it started doing this. I replaced the cam position sensor and also the engine coolant temp sensor and it didnt help. I was thinking of replacing the ignition coil packs and housi g but not sure if that would fix it. There are no check engine lights or stored codes . 4 Answers

My service engine light soon as been on for about a week. I took it to AutoZone for the diag test. They said it could be a bad oxygen sensor or fuel switch. I was wondering how long I can drive the car before I get it fixed?
