Grand am wont start

My car would sometimes quit on me while driving.
But one day I drove about 15 miles and parked an
hour later tried to start my car it would only click
with I try to crank. I just replaced the starter n
brand new battery anyone know what else it could
be?

Sounds like alternator is not charged or battery terminals need a good cleaning.

Right, you should be able to jump start the car, and you can check at the battery when engine is running with a volt meter, there should be 14.5 DCV if the alternator is charging, or just get it checked.

Well a click usually means the starter is not getting enough juice to turn over. I would look over the wire good from the battery down to the starter. Check the ground cable from the battery to were it is bolted to ground. I know you replaced the starter, but a click also could indicate something wrong with the solenoid on the starter.

Would hitting the starter make it crank. But if it doesnt do that mean the starter is no good.
