Backfir nd stalling only in drive after warming up on 2001grand am 3.4l
I have gone through this car it still pops nd
backfires like there's water in fuel but its a
fresh tank has new catalyst converter but
not getting any codes minde you it will only
do this after its good and warm and been
running for at least 5 miles I have checked
all connections to ensure thers no loose
ones what do I do now
There are two thing,s to check, first fuel pressure to rule out bad fuel pump, second is check your coil pack.
Has plenty of fire o. All cylinders the fuel pressure is 56 lbs in my driveway at 1500 rpm but I have no way to monitor it when under load going down the road when the symptoms occur
Im leaning toward bad fuel pump,it will have good pressure, until it quit,s when it get,s warm.
would that be why the short term fuel trim his so low when going down the road on my obd2
my next question is why would it only do it under load and not when its at an idol
It take,s more fuel when it,s trying to move,at idol it use,s very little fuel.
Check that fuel pump.
