trying to help a friend

Asked by May 08, 2016 at 07:40 PM about the 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a grand am. It wouldn't start so
replaced fuel pump. Still has same issue.
Replaces crank sensor, throttle position
sensor, idle air control sensor, fuel filter. It
finally will start for a second then nothing.
Security light doesn't flash or anything. It
has a 3.4 motor. I'm running out of ideas.

check the injectors

Was the Injectors causing the problem?

Its sounds like it could be its your Passlock 2 anti theft system. In the 6cyl. it cuts the starter preventing it to start, in the 4cyl. it stops the fuel injectors to work. Is the "Evil Red Security Light" on or flashing when you try to start it. if so I can show you a procedure to reset/ relearn the Passlock ignition. Send me a message I know a few things about these Grand Am's

Injectors are not getting fuel. And security light is on but doesn't flash.

Robbie2599 yes if you can do that I would appreciate it
