2000 Grand Am starts for approx 2 seconds and dies. It will restart you can rev it once then it dies again. It had a die battery so i put in a new one. It now will start but then dies out ?
is it carbed or FI
Ok it sounds like a pass key (security) problem. Either the key is bad or the ignition switch isn't reading the key. Did you get a new key made? Oh and BTW its F.I.
Yes its FI, and it is the same key thats always started it. The security light comes on but does not blink, then turns off. I tried the turning it to run for ten min. but did not help. i can hear the fuel pump come on when the key is turned on. it ran perfect the day before. Only difference is put knew battery in.
Ok. Well it's going to be a wiring, connection or electrical problem. The security light doesn't have to blink for the ignition to kill the car.
