2000 pontiac grand am and the key will not come out of the ignition.
make sure transmission is fully in park try moveing steering wheel back and forth slowley key should come out.
probly a broken key cylinder. Quite common problem.
Could be either of those things or your key could be a little worn and the car can't make it out. This is the cheapest solution (to get another key) otherwise you would have to have the ignition looked at and that can go from 60-150 dollars. GOOD LUCK!!!
Try what I did in my 95. Start car, shift to drive, slam the shifter into park, and remove key. Wores every time. there is a safety thing in the shift linkage that protects from the ingition being turned fully off so the key cannot be removed
