Do I ask for an engine diagnostic first....do I bother to repair..engine only 102,000 km

Asked by Apr 22, 2015 at 03:33 PM about the 2000 Pontiac Grand Am SE Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Blue smoke, engine choking as I went up a long hill.  It has needed oil added more
lately.  Has been a great car but it is 15 years old.  I am wondering if it needs an
engine rebuild, should I spend the money.  Would it run another 15 yrs if I did that?
LOL.

Sounds like valve seals or rings. Get some quotes first. A used engine might be your best bet. Another 15 years? The engine might, but will the rest of the car?
